In DC Asst Police Chief Groomes did her job IMHO

Assistant Police Chief Diane Groomes is facing allegation of a testing improprieties and is presently on administrative leave  and from the details emerging like these from the  Washington Post I have to say it's time to lay this to rest. "*.council member Phil Mendelson (D-At Large) said Groomes is alleged to have given out answers to a time-consuming, open-book exam that tested top commanders on homeland security and other intelligence issues*". Now to the average person reading this or hearing about in the media or public discourse is going to think WOW this is a big deal.... Well, let me tell you it is not a big deal and it happens all the time. I f everyone that took one of these tests where honest they would come out and say ~this is not fair and lets get on with the needs of the ctizens and the District gov. it would cease to be an issue.  Personally, I have been able over the last few years to take a number of classes and receive training that would allow me t

The Oldest US Vet in my Family

This is Adam Weinrich he is oldest know US Veteran in our family. He died in 1864 and is still laying not to far from where he died in Andersonville Prison during the senseless war of states. He lays in earth National Historic Site, Andersonville National Historic Site, 496 Cemetery Rd, Andersonville, Sumter, Georgia, 31711, USA One of the stories is that our fore fathers on my Fathers dad's side bought his large family to Sheffiled Il to escape the last Danish Draft. From there every Jacobsen served in the Military and I figured I was going to right up until the moment I walked out of the recruitment station in Hyttsville, MD. It seems the fleet officers was convinced that I wanted to be like Top Gun which had just come out and that I keep saying that I wear glasses and know I cannot fly so why would I take the aviation part of the OQT. Needless to say I couldn't convince him that I wanted to go into Navel Intel. Go figure. So on this Veteran's day I salute al

Note to anyone thinking of  using the slogan Mission Complete this is how it's done. Having had your government train me up to Advanced ICS for Command of General Staff, complex Incidents and MACS for Operational First Responders (btw it was the Nat Fire Academy classes) aka ICS -400 this seems to be a rock solid job of responding to a crisis that was not in anyone play book.  Well it is now and I tip my hat.

From the eye of the shareagle....

So for some of us that have been online for the -- going on -- 2 decades, the same story is being retold in a difference narrative same result. The race is never about being the fastest unless your in a real sprinting race, the rest of them are if your really lucky played out over a marathon sometimes a life.  In my book the longer the better considering that I have pretty much lived petal-to-floor since I showed up if I wasn't so into being NOW it might scare the dickens out of me. So let's consider that the dickens are still in me and that I am going to beat this thing called life like a drum if your got something to add let me know we'll form a merry band and share some pictures on FB and some Tweets and the most important part is that we are doing it together. Besides it's not who got here first,  it's that we're all here NOW  and at the end of the day IMHO  if your not making an impact on someone then your doing it by yourself and I say share.

Come to think of it my first blog was at Internet 95

Yep way back in 1995 I was at a conference called Internet 95 and this was the conference where SUN released JAVA.  Now, Talk about being in a fishbowl, the fact that everyone there was better connected then Kevin Bacon by virtue of the smallness of the Internetwork community at the time.  Consider that at the end of 1995 there where only 50,000 domain names registered.  There was also this wild service called Site of the Day and if your's  made it your site would gets the world's attention for at least a day and as long as you could string out some press or PR.   There I was at Internet 95 and I decided that it was so important that everyone not there get the news from the conference that I started a subdirectory on our corporate website Altavoz.com and then posted updates during the day  via a telnet session. Back then we had to go through quite a bit to get this done.  Starting with getting online.  From there going to your shell account and then using telnet to get ov

In front of Councilperson Mendelson Public Saftey Committee on February 23, 2010 both Former HSEMA directors Barbara Childs_Pair, and Peter LePort testified that in their opinion under the present administration the role of DC Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency has become a second tier outpost and that the Mayor himself needs to become more active. This testimony was covered in Report on PR 18-631at the Public Hearing for the current HSEMA Director. Their point was that we could have the best person for the job which they both said Milicent Williams will be and I agree as I testified on her behalf as well; However without the Mayor's involvement there is little any director can do. This should have been front page news. Yet is is buried and I will take it some are just hearing this for the first time. I will bet this blog that Mayor Fenty has more time in the Wilson Pool then he does in our Emergency Management HQ.  Think about this during the recent snow stor

One of the most beautiful places in the world Montserrat BWI.  I was lucky enough to be there before the Suffiee Volcano tunned it into to a shell of it's former self. The volcano is just over the hill behind the owner of the shack that used to stand there.   And, it was there that I had one very strange encounter with some of the good folk from UP North, two girls named Lisa, a city pickup truck and even weirder aftermaths. I now it sound too good to be true and who knows if it's not does it really matter I know this shot happened because I took it and will never forget the whole experience.  Hopefully we have many more ahead of us all and I look forward to sharing them with whomever turns up here. .

Who wants to Electron Date, I suggest it may save your life.

Silicon  (pronounced  /ˈsɪlɨkÉ™n/   SIL -É™-kÉ™n  or  /ˈsɪlɨkÉ’n/   SIL -É™-kon ,  Latin :  silicium ) is the most common  metalloid . It is a chemical element , which has the symbol  Si  and  atomic number  14. A  tetravalent   metalloid , silicon is less reactive than its chemical analog  carbon . Silicon is the eighth most common element in the universe by mass, but silicon very rarely occurs as the pure free element in nature. It is more widely distributed in dusts,  sands , planetoids and planets as various forms of  silicon dioxide  (silica) or  silicates . In Earth's crust, silicon is the second most abundant element after  oxygen , making up 25.7% of the crust by mass According to Wikipedia    I have heard read and thought about the concept of moving from a carbon based energy to silicon and from the esoteric community that we are literally moving from carbon based to silicon.  This is part of the process that we are to undergo when we have those extra  strangs of DNA activate

On a large scale, the the course of a minute a distant earth-quake cause building to crumble and crush thousand of people to death in Mexico City, Suddenly rich and poor alike are working together night and day to rescue the injured and care for the homeless. Meanwhile men and women of all nations open their pocketbooks and their hearts to a people they have never seen, much less met, in a sudden consciousness of our common humanity. . Pg 77 The Different Drum. M. Scott Peck   1987 This whole thing we are going through now some may call it the ascension time zone or the end times either way we are going through one of the most important times in earth/humanity development.  The development in Space Weather related events and those happening on earth are left only to a very few because most of us can tell something in our spacetimeweather is not as it was. Is it because we are learning to deal with a wider range of information and this ability seems to be heighten when tried to cri
