My eight bit me is ready

Image
I love it when a new sites comes out and it has some kind of statement about not being ready. This is a very good lesson for everyone in the business of developing communities online and I hope we heed it when we are restarting our little revolution. So tip0Hat 2 the folks at eightbit.com for providing me with the lesson and the opportunity to reward my inter hacker and have some fun at the same time. Bravo. 01110011 01101111 01101110 00100000 01101111 01100110 00100000 01101110 01100101 01101100 01110011 00100000

The Gov. Peter Shumlin of Vermont hates cherry trees and the Constitution!

I just read this on a blog by  Terri Hallenbeck   Burlingtonfreepress.Com “It baffles me that anyone would want to live in Washington, D.C.,”  Gov. Peter Shumlin  Well Governor!  People love to live here for a number of reasons some of which are patriotic- DC is your Nation's Capitol; others live here because a generation or more of their family is from here, I believe they call that roots; and still a vast majority came here because of a higher calling.   Inside these 10 Square miles* is some of the most dedicated public servants in the world.   Sure there all those crappy Congressman that don't pay rent and way too many lobbyist plus the beltway bandits.  However, I believe those folks don't really live inside the District. If so they don't register or become active politically. So when you say want to live here I get confessed.   Clearly you are confused between the role, place and positi...

Socialmedia experts, wait just another 4 years or 6,552 hours

I am invoking the 10 Year Rule on this whole Socialmedia  Expert thingy (webpreneurs too) United across all fields of study is the agreement that expertise is both explicit and implicit and the latter is well considered to take some time.  As it turns out according to William Chase and Herbert Simon it's 10 years. They made this statement after studying chess players. ( click here for reasonable explanation as to why chess masters) as subject matter for what it takes to be considered expert minds.  In his book OUTLIERS Malcom Gladwell broke it down to 10,000 hours which if you think about is about at 5.5 hours of it a day everyday. . Funny one of last nites Grammy nominated, presenters said that they were humble and willing to wait since 1 of the bands nominated for best new band had been around for 10 years.     So lets look at Socialmedia.  For most this has been around for a very short time in fact so short that in 2006 I put up ...

What has 47 years taught me

I would have to say the biggest part of me is that I have learned experience trumps, degrees and that folks are trying their best and that the systems that are in place where not designed for the masses to have wealth and now that the masses are awaking to this fate. They will change the value of what they consider wealth. If the material was the flow or life book of our sociabilities interaction. And, for as long as any of us have experienced outside trips to remote places on the globe; We are now going to have to make room for a new mind set.   As it turns out we already have one of the greatest economies and society all rapped up into one ~ person.    Yet. we are a collection of trillions of individual cells that for our conscience most part work as a one. The economy in the body is that one that codifies my theory of Marginal Utility of Public Good as the body doesn't have areas that horde vital elements or buildin...

In DC Asst Police Chief Groomes did her job IMHO

Assistant Police Chief Diane Groomes is facing allegation of a testing improprieties and is presently on administrative leave  and from the details emerging like these from the  Washington Post I have to say it's time to lay this to rest. "*.council member Phil Mendelson (D-At Large) said Groomes is alleged to have given out answers to a time-consuming, open-book exam that tested top commanders on homeland security and other intelligence issues*". Now to the average person reading this or hearing about in the media or public discourse is going to think WOW this is a big deal.... Well, let me tell you it is not a big deal and it happens all the time. I f everyone that took one of these tests where honest they would come out and say ~this is not fair and lets get on with the needs of the ctizens and the District gov. it would cease to be an issue.  Personally, I have been able over the last few years to take a number of classes an...

The Oldest US Vet in my Family

Image
This is Adam Weinrich he is oldest know US Veteran in our family. He died in 1864 and is still laying not to far from where he died in Andersonville Prison during the senseless war of states. He lays in earth National Historic Site, Andersonville National Historic Site, 496 Cemetery Rd, Andersonville, Sumter, Georgia, 31711, USA One of the stories is that our fore fathers on my Fathers dad's side bought his large family to Sheffiled Il to escape the last Danish Draft. From there every Jacobsen served in the Military and I figured I was going to right up until the moment I walked out of the recruitment station in Hyttsville, MD. It seems the fleet officers was convinced that I wanted to be like Top Gun which had just come out and that I keep saying that I wear glasses and know I cannot fly so why would I take the aviation part of the OQT. Needless to say I couldn't convince him that I wanted to go into Navel Intel. Go figure. So on this Veteran's day I salute al...

Mision Cumplida for once.

Note to anyone thinking of  using the slogan Mission Complete this is how it's done. Having had your government train me up to Advanced ICS for Command of General Staff, complex Incidents and MACS for Operational First Responders (btw it was the Nat Fire Academy classes) aka ICS -400 this seems to be a rock solid job of responding to a crisis that was not in anyone play book.  Well it is now and I tip my hat.
